Hello blog friends! I haven't really done a proper post for a while, so I thought today would be that day considering it's only midday and already my day is just falling apart! At least I can start to do some work today, too?
You may have noticed, that it's been that time of year where the month changes... and now we are in October! The month of halloween, autumn leaves, fairly poor weather and all those other things. There are a few things that come to mind when I think of October, so I'm gonna let you guys know what I'm absolutely loving about October this year, and the years previous.
This one is an absolute given. I love dressing up for Halloween... and yes, I am 21 years old (Soon to be, anyway, in December!). Last year I dressed as a Sugar Skull, or some might know as a Dia De Los Muertos girl. This year... hmm, I guess we will see! Any excuse to have a good drink and party with everyone at Uni.
2. Dark red lipstick
I absolutely love it. The only problem is, I'm quite pale as it is, and that dark colour just reaaaally sucks out what little colour in my face I have left.
3. Cable knit jumpers
I have a jumper that I've had since I was about 18, and it's so cosy and comfy. It was only a cheapie from New Look, and it's a navy blue cable-knit jumper. It fits just lovely, and
This year, it has real significance as my Nan sadly passed away at the start of October. But in years previous I always associate October being a time where I see my Nans regularly or talk often to them. Something sweet about it being horrid autumn showery weather outside, and cuddling up to your nan with a cup of tea and a crumpet. Which leads me onto the next one...
(I know a lot of my readers are from afar so just in case you don't know what either of these things are, click each word above and it'll show you what each thing is. Try not to drool!)
I forget all about crumpets and english muffins until around about this time of year. Then I realised how much I love them... so I buy a lot. But this year, I'm going to have to nip this habit in the bud whilst I still can - I'm trying not to each so much breaddy things. (But I guess I could always succumb to just one cheeky little crumpet...)
6. American Sweets
I go on a bit of a rampage. Last year I accidentally ordered a butt load of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups... and I had to end up giving a lot of them away. I literally could've started my own shop, I had that many! It was a complete and innocent accident. Promise. But yes, as you might guess, they're my ultimate favourite. Chocolate and peanut butter is probably the best ever combination of any two things. Ever. Ever.
7. Body Shop Grapefruit Body Butter
I feel like the weather makes my body skin go pretty dry when it's October time. So after a shower, I like to slap on a bit of body butter. It acts as perfume, too, it's so fragrant and lovely! And it makes my skin feel amazing. I have Keratosis pilaris on my arms and it seems to dampen the redness slightly, also.
8. Family Visits
This year, hopefully my beautiful mother is going to come and visit me in Huddersfield this month! Last year, I took Jon home to meet my family for the first time and it was a lovely memory. It's just enough time to be away from Blackpool, and to miss your family and see them all again.
9. New slippers
As tradition, I usually buy new slippers around now and Christmas time. But I haven't seen any that I like the look of this year... bit random, I know, but I'm very much set in my ways. I have the comfiest slipper boots that my mum bought for me last year, but I can't find them. Somebody buy me some slippers? My feet are so c-c-cold! (Socks will not do. ;) haha)
10. Of course... autumn leaves
I have a very love-hate relationship with autumn leaves. I had a majorly traumatic (to me) experience a few years back. I went to stand on a crunchy leaf in my garden path, and just before I did, it made a 'Ribbit!' noise. I was terrified! I'm actually so afraid of frogs, anyway, so this was just enough to tip me over! However, after thorough examination of leaves as I'm passing by, I do occasionally give a good little stomp to hear the crunch! It's the little things, ey? :)
Aaaaand, that's all folks! Let me know what you're loving this October, beauty related, music related - all of it! Take care, you guys!
